The Broadband Architecture and Design team is seeking a skilled and innovative Lead Member of Technical Staff to join our dynamic group. This mid-level position offers a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to contribute to cutting-edge solutions within the AT&T broadband network. The role has emerged due to the significant expansion of AT&T Fiber Broadband services, including MultiGig services and the evolution of high-speed Broadband services. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in a wide range of technologies, such as Passive Optical Networks (PON), Network Security, Telecom Networks, and Ethernet networking (L2/L3). This is an exciting chance to be part of a talented team driving forward-looking projects and innovations.
What you'll do:
- Design and develop high-speed broadband services for AT&T Fiber/PON (XGS-PON and 25G PON), from concept to production. Responsibilities include architecture design, system development, analysis, and ensuring the security of the Access Network.
- Additionally, design and architect advanced fiber optic networks for outside plant infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of optical network components.
- Perform proof-of-concept and design validation in a lab setting, including hands-on configuration and testing of vendor products.
- Access Network management systems (NMS), OSS/BSS integration, system integration, API development, and platform architecture across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
- Communicate the requirements for new product development to suppliers, closely monitor their performance, and ensure that all design specifications are met.
What you'll bring:
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present and communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, both orally and in written form.
- System Design and Technology Innovation: Limited experience in detailed system design or the incentive to learn. Engage in the design and development of new products, systems / platform architecture, and hardware/software engineering. Have the ability to perform proof-of-concept and design validation in a lab setting, including hands-on configuration and testing of vendor products.
- Networking Expertise: Possesses a high level of understanding of Ethernet networking (L2/L3), IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and Quality of Service (QoS).
- Programming, Scripting and Automation: Ability to write code or scripts for data analysis or prototype development using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Golang or C/C++.
- AI and Machine Learning Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools for network optimization, automation, predictive analytics, or troubleshooting. Experience integrating AI/ML models into network operations or analysis workflows is a plus.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field is required.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 4-5 years of technical experience.
Our Lead Member of Technical Staff, earns between $171,600-$257,400 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
